A Tip is a hollow gesture.
A specific amount of money doesn't appropriately work to show your gratitude.

The dude is not expecting you to pay him anything.
But (as several have already said up-thread), a case of his favorite beer, or if he doesn't drink beer a bottle of his favorite whiskey or wine if he prefers is the answer.
Also, just be a good neighbor. Sounds like you already are if he let you hook your fridge up.
When we built our house we were lucky to choose a great neighborhood. All of the neighbors in our immediate area hang out together and get along great. Good neighbors make everything better.
