Depends on what state you are in(meaning not all states have same amount of taxes). 20% is now the usual standard tip.

Buffets are trashy. Vegas is trashy. Not tipping is trashy. Vegas buffets are really trashy. Complaining about tipping is really trashy. You sir, are one trashy POS.
Btw, go to the same restaurant once a week or a couple of times per month. Don't tip. See how your experience changes. If you don't want to tip, get take out so no one has to deal with your cheap arse for two hours.

I will leave a few bucks per person.
No way a buffet waiter will get as much as a real restaurant worker from me. Two completely different levels of service.

My last Golden Corral experience was 12 or so years ago late on a Sunday afternoon. Total trash. Hogs eating at the trough, chicken wings and spaghetti on the floor, leftover food and plates on a quarter of the tables, etc.

My last trip there was a high school playoff game in north la and the team bus stopped there for lunch. It was horrible even as a high school kid

I agree. But OP said he disagreed with tipping anywhere in general. He's clearly trolling but there are people who think this way.

I don't tip often based on percentage of the check.
If I go to a restaurant and have a check of $50, and the server took the order, brought drinks, brought food - that's a total of about 5 minutes work for the server, max of 10 if we're there for an hour.
At 20% that's $10. You're not getting $10 to write a couple sentences, fill a few glasses with liquid, and bring a few plates of food - unless it's your customer service that makes the dining experience better. $5 is plenty for that amount of time and effort.
If a server has six tables, that's $30 per hour in tips. Even if half the tables omit a tip that's $15 per hour. Tipping 20% that's $60 per hour.
Tipping is a good model for customer service. You should not be averse to tipping. In the example I gave, if tips are shared with kitchen staff and others then wait staff still get $15/hr if all tables gave $5. If you omit tips, then it can put a dent in everyone's pay, and I'm against that considering the pay involved.
But, you should not be compelled to tip according to the check price.

I tipped 50% on a $35 breakfast just Friday in Baltimore because she was smoking hot with an incredible arse, smiled great, had a super attitude, stopped and visited with me, gave great service and had the television changed to the channel I wanted.
I tip well if it's deserved. I don't if it isn't. Simple as that.
