At Six Flags Atlanta in 1973, Mom was bitching and yelling at me for being a brat. She threatened to beat my head in with her purse. I was 10. I deserved the public shaming. I was a hellion as a kid.

Ah, good times, good times

When I was 13, my mom was taking me to the store to get new tennis shoes... She takes me to A&P, it's an old grocery store for the young ones, to buy me some Fruit of the Loom brand shoes.. See some good friends with their family in the store and they were laughing because of the cheap arse shoes she wanted to buy me...

Never wore those things once...

They were like knock off Adidas with an extra stripe..

I was on a traveling baseball team and we were in the finals. During one of the games, I was playing left field and my mom was behind the first base dugout and the bottom dropped out and it was raining bad. Next thing I know a lightning strike happened and my mom screams " *name* get your butt off that field right this instance!" The rest of the parents followed suit but I was the first and there was too long of a pause between my mom and the rest. I had to run off of the field before the game was delayed. Sucked really bad.

My mom took a job at my elementary (k-8)school when I was 11, school guidance counselor. That was embarrassing itself.
It was a Catholic school and that year they decided to teach us about our changing bodies...she taught the class. While I sat mortified silent with my head down, in a circle with my classmates everyone else was giggling and wispering.
It gets worse.
My mom gave everyone except me detention for acting out.

Tag team between my mother and sister. Sis is on the phone with her semi hot friend, friend asks her what she's doing, and she says "watching mama pop my brother's pimples."

The Sonic worker was a good looking chick a couple of grades ahead of me at my school.

i grew up without a mother, but I had a swarm of aunts who took on that role in my life. Most of you had one mother so only one person to dole out the mama brand of embarrassment. I had 4 aunts that I consider my mother, so there's 4 times the embarrassment.

Here are a few of my favs:

Anyone remember when DQ called its burgers Braziers??? Well they did. In my small town the cool older kids worked at a DQ. One time at the drive thru my aunt was trying to order something called "bra sures". A lot of bra Sures all with different condiments. Me and my cousin kept yelling just call it a hamburger, to no avail. By the time we got to the pick up window, the crew was in stitches - of course I was recognized and spent the next years of HS being asked if my bra was sure it could handle double meat or if my bra was sure it could hold my tits blah blah blah.

On vacation staying at a Holiday Inn, my uncle got a bad case of the runs. We were all in one room, aunt uncle 2 cousins and me. I refused to use the bathroom bc it was like a gas chamber. Remember how those old holiday inns had the rooms right next to the pool?? Well my aunt starts cussing and standing at the door fanning it to remove the odor. People hanging at the pool were dying laughing. Finally, she grabs me, pajama clad, drags me past these people into the lobby to use that restroom. That was probably 40 years ago and those stares are seared in my memory.

This is more recent, but at a family funeral, I swear I go to 3 or 4 a year these days. One of my aunts means over and makes an apropo statement about the deceased and I can't help myself from laughing. As we are walking out she's getting some bad stares and then she says to me - Mercy, that was not a nice thing to say. So I look like the arse.

I could go on and on and on, but I don't want to.

A child can work at the age of 14. They can just work very limited hours and if working somewhere like a restaurant or whatever, they can't close.

Walked in to the local Time Saver with my mom to grab a coke. We go up to the register and my mom gets this excited look on her face and says "Aww, memories!" She then grabs a handful of condoms out of a bin and slaps them down in front of the cashier.

Me: "What are you doing!?!?"

Mom: "I love these things!"

Me: (blank stare)

Mom: "My friends and I use to eat these all time when I was little!"

Me: (look of mass confusion followed by realization) "Mom, those are NOT chocolate coins."

One time two buddies and I were playing Sega in my room and my mom started bitching at me from the other room about chores I didn’t do so I ignored her. Well she comes to my door and makes sure I heard her and kinda embarrasses me, so 13 year old me thought I’d be cool and when she walked away I said “I hate that bitch” under my breath not knowing she was standing by the door. Well momma heard that shite and comes storming back in the room and yells “I’ll show you what bitch to hate” and drug me out of my room by my hair into the hall and beat the shite out of me in front of my two buddies. I’ll never forget the look on their faces

Oh and that was the first and last time I ever called my mom a bitch

When I was I believe around 14/15 my buddies had gotten ahold of a 8mm porn film. We had one of those old Bell and Howell 8mm projectors so I borrowed the film for further review. Left it in the drawer in my room, big mistake, brother finds it and shows it to my mom. Back then my mother and several of her friends, all educators, would meet at either of their houses after school and throw back a few martinis to unwind. I come home and there is all of them watching this porn flick that my brother gave them. Embarrassing as hell.
