I know this would be a loooooonnng shot, but if he was the Democratic nominee would you vote for him as President.

FIFY. It’s like people forgot the normal protocols when you are under the weather.

Yes, I'm aware of that. But I wasn't sure if asymptomatic people could spread the virus. I think they can, however, I'm not sure.

Neither the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines are "sterilizing" vaccines. Both protect against severe illness or death, but neither provide a shield of invulnerability. You can still contract the virus, particularly after vaccine effectiveness wanes (which is why we have boosters) or if for whatever reason your body did not did not generate an adequate immune response (which is also why we have boosters). This is also why there are recommendations to continue social distancing, wearing masks indoors, and avoiding crowds.

It sucks that the communication has been terrible through this whole pandemic. It was disjointed under Trump, but in his defense they were dealing with something new. Not to mention a bunch of other bullshite. Biden's response has also been terrible.

Covid-19 isn't going away and it's not "the flu". I believe average flu deaths are about 25,000 to 35,000. We've had over a million Covid-19 deaths over the last two years. However much you might think the numbers were inflated, many Americans kicked the bucket. And many of them needlessly.

It wasnt the flu when it first came about

Probably closer to the flu or sinus headache for those now. We are on weakened version like 27 or something by now.

I know I'm tired of hearing about Covid-19 and having to take precautions because of it. But I'll bet dollars to donuts that after this winter is over we'll still have many more than the typical 25,000 to 35,000 influenza deaths. It may not be as many as the past two years (approx 400,000 to 500,000), but it's going to be way more than normal flu mortality.

BATON ROUGE - Governor John Bel Edwards announced he tested positive for COVID-19 just hours after he attended a groundbreaking event for a new road project with numerous state officials. The governor said in a statement that he tested positive Friday but that he was not experiencing any symptoms. Earlier that same morning, the governor was photographed with several people at the groundbreaking for the LA 1 improvement project in Lafourche Parish.

Walk it off.

Even the old diabetics who smoked their whole lives are surviving it now.

I think the vaccines were geared for a variant that hasn't been in existence in almost a year.

I'm old, fat and have asthma. I had this last variant and was sick for ten days at home, never went to the doctor, took Nyquil and had a complete recovery. It's basically a bad cold or a weak flu.
