He's probably referring to the fact that she'll stand respectfully for the anthems and flags of other nations with far more questionable records on gay rights, race relations, religious freedoms, etc. but will shite on her own country in a tournament premised on "playing for your country."
If she wants to get attention for herself in a friendly or in whatever the professional league for women's soccer is, go ahead.
Taking a knee in the World Cup and refusing to sing your own anthem? You get cut from the team. It undermines the entire purpose of the event. If you're that displeased and disgusted with your nation, then you should find something else to play for.
