John McPhee AKA The Sheriff of Baghdad said on a podcast (with either Shawn Ryan or Rogen) that he had to take Kennedy down a peg and fight him because he was popping off to everyone talking about how great and tough he was
He did admit that he fought Tim after Tim had dispatched several other soldiers and was tired.

Yet here you are running with it like it’s a fact
I am? I used that verbiage because I haven’t seen it. It hasn’t been released to the public, but has been confirmed by various people from the armed forces to exist.
If you read into redwings at all you’ll find out pretty quickly how much bs is in the book.

Again, how could anyone know that without seeing this supposed predator footage or being in the investigation?
Because people involved with redwings have constantly refuted his claims. He claimed that “everyone” was dead, but when they found Axelson’s body a week later they said he had only been dead 24-48 hours. They pulled back search and rescue based on his claim.

I have served in several Call of Duty tours across multiple consoles and this kind of behavior disgusts me.

But, during the middle of a pretty substantial firefight, you see your guy take multiple rounds from 7.62 and I believe he took one to the head (unsure how accurate I’m being there) can we really blame Luttrell for assuming that he was dead?

the point is that there is no way to decipher what is BS and what isnt. ok, so you read into Red Wings...what makes THOSE sources more reliable?
the fact is that no one knows exactly what happened.

I’ve also never claimed anything as fact.
I’m just saying the whole situation “stinks”
The fact that he’s changed the story multiple times also doesn’t bode well for his credibility.

I’ve never heard of there being drone footage before and there probably wasn’t any. If there was a drone over head the Seals would have been able to use it as really to call for air support. Those viewing the footage would’ve know where to send the rescue team. Instead, the guy who took in Lutrell had to send his buddy and a 3 mile walk to a Marine outpost with a letter saying they had him. The idea that there’s drone footage doesn’t pass the smell test.

I like Jesse venturas response to the SF podcast people we have now…. They all want fame about their time in. Beside Jesse I don’t know another SF guy thats gives interviews from 40 years ago like what we have now.

it's fame for some of them. for most of them, in my opinion, they just want to make money. i'm not necessarily against that, but if they are making money off lies - well that's a problem.
Jocko is a good example of someone who has made money while remaining honest about his service and background and also marketing himself in an ethical manner.

All the shite about Luttrell running is pure bullshite imo.
Is it? He straight up said he heard his guy screaming for him as he was being killed and he was scared and ran. You can find the video if you want. The same people that have been calling Tim Kennedy out and started this about a year ago have said things about Luttrell also.

I hope nobody says anything bad about Pat McNamara because I happen to find him to be one of the coolest baws on this mudball.

That remark destroys every other part of his apology.
He simply can't/won't own what he said. He is the very definition of a narcissist. A true narcissist can't/won't ever offer a genuine apology.

being pinned down and setting your weapon down in a moment where there is nothing you can really do isnt the same as throwing your weapon down and running away. the way that story sounds is that there was nothign he could do at that point but sacrifice himself in a heroic but pointless attempt at rescue in which they BOTH end of dead. maybe he should have, i dont know. that's an impossible decision in my opinion. but point taken.
look, i think a bunch of his story is bullshite, and i dont intend to keep halfway defending him bc i dont think all that highly of him anyways. my point is that simply there are a lot of people who claim to know things about that story that i dont see how they could possibly know. you obviously have something of an ax to grind with him, which is perfectly fine. you probably know more about the topic than i do.
i will say that there are several high profile Marines that i feel the same way about because i know more about them and the events surrounding them than the general public, so i get it.

McPhee can come off as embellishing things as well a lot of times. All lit up on gogo pills talking about passing off as an overgrown mentally handicapped guy.
As for Glover, first I have heard any lying allegations. The wife issue is well documented. I thought he just sold FC to keep from hurting the brand with the wife stuff.
Interested in the Northshore connection.

Idk, kinda seems like they forced it on Luttrell.
I've always had a soft spot for Luttrell. Shortly after the book was published my dad brought him in to come speak at a conference, and the guy was clearly not well. Just living in obvious anguish.
That said, the truth is the truth, whatever it may be.

I served 31 years and retired a few years ago. One thing I learned was if anyone toots their own horn too much, then they are probably fabricating a lot. Those who did the hard things and lost brothers don't brag about it.

It’s easy to focus on the handful of SOF operators who have let the pursuit of money and fame make them act like fools, but that narrative ignores reality.
There are literally thousands of SEALs, Green Berets, PJs, and others who served during the GWOT with quiet professionalism and integrity. In any organization, you’ll find a few bad actors, but they are an incredibly small percentage of this community.
The vast majority of SOF guys I’ve met and worked with are among the finest men America has to offer. Humble, capable, and dedicated to something bigger than themselves.
Painting with a broad brush and calling them all high school girls is dumb and unfair.
