Yeah, I'm sure you extract the most value of out every single transaction in your life.

It actually makes more sense to pay a premium for a mocktail. You aren't getting actively poisoned with a mocktail (just semi passively with the sugar).

Just let people enjoy what they want.

Also, the "marketing" folks in here are hilarious. As if you don't have alcohol ads shoved down your throat 20 times an hour every sporting event you watch. Coming from someone who enjoys a glass of bourbon. It's the same thing, quit with the righteousness.

Non-alcoholic beers are on a rise too. I have a cousin who is into them, and Ive tried some with him. The Guinness one is pretty good.

And a lot of restaurants are selling said mocktails for just under $20 per. LOL.
yeah I got nothing against mocktails but it’s crazy how much fancy ish places sell them when it’s just basically just a fizzy fruit drink

I’ve been on an NA beer kick lately. Athletic Brewing has the NA beer formula down. Their Hazy IPA is excellent.

That’s what I’m encouraging them to do.

No, but I absolutely pay attention to such things.

Yes, but you're being condescending about it. There's an implication that generally follows such statements, usually "if you're stupid" or something to that effect.

If you weren't being condescending you wouldn't have pointed out that the drink is comprised of fruit juice and soda, two items you can get for a fraction of the price of a mocktail.

Yep, but I’m not calling anyone stupid for it. Another OT contradiction, rag people for being financially irresponsible and making poor choices with their money, then turn around and tell people to leave them alone and let them spend their money as they want to.

I made an entire bar laugh once by ordering a mocktail after telling bartender I’ve never tried one. When I took a sip he asked how is it. I said it’s ok but it’s missing something, oh I know! Then I pulled out a flask and dumped bourbon into it

There's zero information that alcohol has anything beneficial except perhaps wine. But you can get antioxidants from plenty of other things.

“Hey, let’s change the name to mocktails and charge a dumb price for them. I am sure young, white chicks will buy them”….

Making poor choices with your money is spending on things you don't want and can't afford.

There's nothing irresponsible about someone who wants a mocktail and can afford a mocktail, buying a mocktail.

You basically just admitted that you think someone buying a mocktail is making a poor choice.

Sugar bombs. Might as well have the real thing. Maybe only drink one. Just a thought.

No. Like I said, I enjoy bourbon.

This state particularly needs a big dose of self awareness. It's poison. There's not a beneficial thing about drinking alcohol that can't be had by eating a handful of blueberries.

It's okay to not be perfect. Drinking is a net negative and there's no way to spin it otherwise. It's okay to like something that is objectively not good for your health for whatever reason. But at least be man enough to admit it.

If you are going to make something up, I’d at least try to make it a good story. Everyone in this dream was laughing at you

There is not ONE human that would say alcohol is good for you. But to call it poison? Lighten up, Francis.

Ethanol in alcoholic beverages (you know, the part that gets your drunk) is literally classified as a Group 1 carcinogen. same category as tobacco and asbestos. Calling it a poison isn’t dramatic, it’s just accurate. If that makes you uncomfortable, that’s not on me.

Alcohol is literally poison. I expect to see this trend continue, drinking will taper off like smoking did.

So basically restaurants are finding ways to make up for lower cocktail demand.
