Tigerland Sign - why didn't it fix everything? How do we bring this place back?

Short of removing old monuments and statues, I don't know what else they could do to address the issues facing Tigerland other than to build a new sign.

Seriously....how does this neighborhood get brought back to its former glory as a seedy student housing area? It's pretty sketchy right now, and borderline dangerous. And it will undoubtedly result in more property crime on or near the LSU campus.

I had some good times back in tigerland circa 2001-2008. No, I'm not a dr I just took my time and dabbled in a little bit of every degree to become a general studies in all of it.

I came in to post a wrecking ball, because that's the only thing that will fix Tigerland.

This is what I found:

In that one photo I can see where I:

-got in a fight
-got a BJ
-Smoked weed
-Fell off a skateboard and broke my wrist
-Bought many calzones

It doesn’t. There is more than enough housing around it to prevent anyone from buying out apartment complexes to build new ones. There’s also too many individual building owners more than happy to keep collecting govt housing checks.

Do y'all remember when the city of Baton Rouge knocked down that bridge on Petit Blvd and didn't build a temporary pedestrian crossing?

Such brilliant planning. They had bargoers wading through a creek and crossing over a rail road track.

Bulldoze everything and start from scratch. That is the only way. I have fond memories of the place. I lived on Earl Gros Avenue from the summer of 1980 through the summer of 1983.

Wasn't right there on the left side of that sign nest to Circle K circa 1997ish?

Property owners have no reason to sell or develop minus a major offer. They just sit back and collect that section 8 money letting become more a cesspool.
