Phrases that need to be retired:

“I need an OT rating on ….” No you don’t, you’re just trying to start an argument.

“Prove me wrong … go.” You lack confidence in your own convictions. Therefore you seek validation from others. Proving you wrong will only send your self-esteem spiraling further out of control.

I find that I’m sometimes reminded of posters names in random irl situations.

Saleswoman (no pics, OT 3.5-4.0-ish) came by the office last week and introduced herself as “Jordan (something)”.

I had to withstand the urge to call her Jor-Jor the Dinosaur.

I can honestly say that I have almost retired from TD altogether over how annoying the phrase “Germans” got. About 2 years ago, a few new kids got on the board and they took every opportunity that they could find to use that phrase and it almost drove me away.

Since nobody cares about me here, it would not have been a big loss.
