Three people were killed, including a child, during a shooting at a Florida Publix grocery store early Thursday afternoon, according to local officials.

At least one suspect opened fire at a Royal Palm Beach Publix grocery store, killing one child and two adults, a man and a woman, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office (PBSO). The suspected shooter was among the fatalities.

A representative from PBSO's Violent Crimes Division told local affiliate FOX 10 News: "Detectives are in the beginning stages of determining what led up to the shooting."

This is terrible. I’m betting domestic/custody dispute, and dad kills entire family, including his child.

I'll never ever understand how anything could get so bad to kill a child.

I wonder if the shooter killed himself (assuming the male was the perp). If so, that sucks...just kill yourself and move the frick on. No need for senseless violence and killing others (especially kids).

The point of the OP’s assumption or the point that some people are terribly selfish and unstable?

People need to learn how to get over relationships better. Just move on with your life. Damn

Sounds like a family or Kevin O’Sullivan thing. Oddly specific victim list and shooter killed himself.

I used to live near that area, and have been to that Publix. Not a bad area

Due to divorce and child custody laws that is much easier said than done. You can't just "move on" if you lose everything you own, have your wages garnished, and only get to see your kids every other weekend -- all because your wife was unhappy and started screwing another dude, who now lives in your house with your kids.

And no, I am not saying that makes it ok to be violent - that's absurd. I am only addressing the notion that emotionally and logistically it's not always easy to "just move on". I was lucky, my ex and I always put our child first and got along just fine. But that seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

Don't quote me on this because I am not 100% sure, but it could be due to the fact this is a message board.. This the OT.. Which is short for Off Topic... And since this is a news story, he felt like this was the place to post and try to have a discussion?
