Guys are trying to prop up the share price before IPO.

Smart move, when in reality even their cutting edge models still can barely read pdfs consistently

This is a single sum all in game on multiple levels.

The race to be first is most important on a national or corporate level. Being safe most important on species level. Hard to marry those two things.

Highly recommend a book entitled superintelligence by Nicholas backstrom for those interested.
