If you want made in the USA boots go with Black Jack, Rios of Mercedes or if you don’t mind the wide square toe Anderson Bean. A lot of Lucchese stuff is made in Mexico now.

Ropers aren’t cowboys boots either……
When real cowboys do actual work, they are wearing ropers hoss. Western heels are for dress or cutting a rug at the honky tonk

Relax.

Not talking about the “people”, it’s in relation to what the boots are called.

“Cowboy” boots are different than Ropers

Honest question. Do real ranchers still wear leather soles boots?

I think the rodeo contests west leather soled because the rubber soles would be tough to get out on dismount.

OP,

Have several pair of Tecovas and enjoy them. Never thought I’d own zip up boots. However, finding a trim fit suit “boot cut” isn’t a thing. I wear them exclusively with trim fit formal wear

I much prefer the leather soles, but they wear out really quickly. Matter of fact, I wouldn’t buy a pair without leather soles. Had to switch. Hence the new soles I just had put on a few months ago.
If I ain’t in the pasture - they’re gonna be leather.

Thank you. Have been looking for
Checking them out now.
Now how about Acme? Think they’re out of business.
Also Nocona, think they were taken over by someone, but maybe not ?

If I just had no choice but to comment, I’d say they’re a little bit country, a little bit rock n roll.

Does your husband approve of you buying these fake boots?

Me too except I only own different skinned versions of the traditional cowboy boot. They all fit great, and we’re comfortable right out of the box except for some exaggerated heel slip which is normal. Broken in and the heel slip was gone in about a week.
