BRNEDD

quote:

Funds collected will be used for economic development, the creation of jobs, and issues that face the citizens of North Baton Rouge. It’s time that for our part of town to get its fair share. So on December 10th, vote Yes for a brighter and more prosperous future for North Baton Rouge Economic Development.

quote:

The creation of the Baton Rouge North Economic Development District as a political subdivision will allow certain beneficial distinctions for the purposes of economic development. The term “Economic Development” is a broad term and has many under lying components such as employment, commercial activity, financial support, advocacy and education.

Trump should make their residents build a wall.

hidden taxes on tourism are actually a pretty common way to rope in some slush fund money without a lot of argument from the tax base...because it theoretically only comes from travelers.

I am not that familiar with North BR....are there many hotels there to generate money if this is passed?

The more people know what paying taxes is like the better- let folks open businesses and find out how hard it is to make a go of it- once they realize how much D C steals then maybe they'll move from being anti business democrats to pro business Americans

That's a nice idea but they'll always have an excuse and I'm sure it'll have something to do with being white peoples fault

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't the residents of South Baton Rouge try to create a "political subdivision to allow certain beneficial distinctions for the purposes of employment, commercial activity, financial support, advocacy and education" only to be accused of trying to build a white utopia?

Belongs on Political Board.

My honest thoughts...I'm skeptical that the funds would go toward real improvement. I clicked the link and read the vague mission. There's no listing of people who control the organization. Sounds like the funds would go toward "leadership", whatever that means.

Nonsense, they all have a black friend.

On a serious note, my understanding is that businesses trying to open in NBR are either scared off over crime or end up losing too much money and close after a short time.
