My wife had a sporty 2014 Q7. Got 20k out of the first set of tires. $1500 easy for a set. Got 35k out of brakes. Needed new pads all the way around and front rotors. Was about $1200 and this was not at the dealer but an indy shop. We loved the way it drove and the costs didn't stop us from getting a Q8.

I have zero debt, no car notes, no kids currently but very soon. Put down 20% on my home when I built it. So I feel like it’s not a bad buy at this point in my life. Just FYI

I hear kids are expensive but if you don’t need the extra cash go do you!

I know plenty of idiots financing Q7’s for the wife for 7 years on a sub $100k household income.

2019 Volvo XC90 can run you $63k

Other than the look, I'm not a big fan of the Volvo's. I hear bad things.
You didn't mention the BMW X5 but it's probably the best of the bunch in all respects.
My sister had an Audi Q5 and it was very nice but it had some annoying problems.
Drove the Jaguar SUV's and they're not quality.
Consider the Lincoln Nautilus. You might be surprised.

You can run that XC90 over $100k. They look nice, I’d look at one if I was looking in that price range.

I’m waiting on the 2020 explorers as well. They will be on a short list for me

Yeah I’d take a Cayenne over any of those in the original post

Lease... no thanks. We’ve had my wife’s suv going on 9 years now.

I have nothing bad to say about my X5

No thanks on land cruiser, nothing against them though

We just bought a 2019 MDX and my wife loves it. Plenty of room and all the bells and whistles.
Only thing I don’t like is the engine shutdown bullshite when you stop. You can turn it off, but there is no way to keep it off.

Lincoln has really upped their game. Navigator will be considerably more expensive than those, but aviator or nautilus should be worth a look.
