that looked more like riot gear to me
Me too, but my previous comment was assuming it was true because I didn't see what every officer was wearing. So many different agencies were involved.

Ferguson ----> had riots
Baton Rouge ----> did not have riots
to me it looks like Peter Kraska is a functioning idiot.

I thought it was awesome. If shite goes down they deserve the best equipment available.

Ferguson was so bad. Baltimore too.

I don't like the militarization of police, but it's a tough subject. Obviously, I'm glad they can protect themselves, especially in the wake of what happened last week.
Just skeptical of potential future uses I guess.

I think it's great. They're just but thirty because they could act like Ferguson idiots.

Operator AF
There were a few of these guys attached to the riot control units to cover them in case the SHTF. It's not out of the ordinary and every police force does this. Hell the NYPD used to (and maybe still does) patrol the subways in full tactical gear for anti-terror purposes.

Let the police "militarize." Allow citizens to continue to exercise their second amendment rights. Seems like the correct balance was struck 227 years ago.

frick em. They just hate the fact their asses got shut down and don't want to see others learn from the BRPD approach.
They shut this shite down. U better believe I would have wanted riot gear for the showdown below. Language NSFW

When did Mark O'Malley (pictured right) join the force?

I'm not saying they don't need some protection. I just don't see the need in arming local police forces with all of the military vehicles and equipment that was recently given to them by the US military.

I'd rather local police forces get it then leaving it behind for ISIS to use.

Dis u see the FBI warning? Did see the shite the New Black Panthers were saying? U wouldn't have wanted to fully defend yourself?

I feel bad for the the officers that had to wear all that gear while it is 100 degrees outside so these morons could throw their hissy fit. If they would've stayed off the roads the officers would never had to deploy in riot gear in the first place.

Or, they learned that if you don't come heavy and swift against violent thugs and put the fear of God into them, you end up with looted stores and burnt out buildings and blocked interstates instead of some roadside litter and outside agitators fleeing back to their holes with their tails between their legs.

Tell these nutjobs to go risk their lives and take the cop's place and provide security for the protesters.
That's what the cops in Dallas did and look what happened to them.

I like when they walk up and go woah, woah, woah. As we saw in Dallas it only takes 1 idiot.
