My first thought. Nothing wrong with a man spending time with his little girl. But I don't really see the need to call it a date or have your wife blast it all over her Facebook page.
Shouldn't parents be spending time with their kids anyway? Why is this worthy of praise? Congrats. You did your job.

Facebook didn't exist when my two were young enough for this.

Why do you think they're all looking for praise?

The screen shot in the OP is definitely looking for praise. She posted a screen shot of her texts with her husband ffs

Yeah I get that. I was really just talking about the act of taking your son or daughter on a date. I couldnt give two flying fricks about posting it on FB. If people want to then thats their right but Im not gonna go out of my way to do it.

So you're asking what people's thoughts are on hanging out with their kid?

My thoughts are.. Whatever works for them. I don't know if I would label it as "a date", when the mom and son go to dinner or whatever, but I understand wanting to set a high expectations for your daughter.
As for as that cock sucker who felt the need to explain what it was really like to be treated as a princess. After that first sentence, it is hard to take him serious and it is almost as if he was trying to find any reason to argue against it. His daughter will probably be on the pole at 18.

I think it's dumb how doing a pretty ordinary everyday thing can "go viral" or better yet "break the internet" dude was being a a solid dad... not sure the world needs to know about it

well more so the act of making a "date" out of it. Like I said in the OP I consider it spending quality time with my kid some parents actually create a date out of it....wear a dress, purse, flowers, etc...I havent gone that far but heck my daughter likes going to LSU games with me and is will to go ride in the golf cart while we go play golf and enjoys it.

Not everyone who uses Facebook is trying to rack up likes. There is a lot of peojecting in this thread.
Yeah it's decent for organizing an event or buying/selling something too.

Me and my 2yo have dates all the time. We have movie dates, dance parties and diner dates. I don't get her dressed up when we go out, but I take her out all the time. She is so sweet.

that fact that some people make spending time with your kids sound creepy is creepy.

Better than seeking praise for random vapid other shite parents post.
Why this type of post would bother anyone is beyond me.

I take my daughter on a "father/daughter date" once a year. Never post on FB, etc. (And only mention here to be able to say many dont do this for public attention.)
Why did I start doing this? Simple reasons:
I wanted to spend time with my daughter
I wanted to start teaching my daughter how she should
expect to be treated on a date
I wanted her to learn how to conduct herself when she is on a date
We have had great times and have discussed many areas of dating, even "simple" things such as the young man will always be expected to enter our house when picking her up, or how she should be considerate and not expect expensive meals and/or order expensive items just because she may not be paying.
She is a teen now and still looks forward to these.
Bring on the Alabama jokes I guess.

psychiatrists applaud this trend. lots of work later. lots of couples counseling too.
DA's love this trend too. lots of incest cases a-comin'. win a couple of those and boom, you are running for Congress.

Do you think it had the intended result? How many of her friends are envious of her perfect hubs now?

Nah no jokes, sounds like you're a good dad.

I didn't read all of that shite but I try to get at least 1 afternoon a week with my baby girl. We usually go for yogurt then to the park. She's 2 and has a 4 yr old brother that's always on my side so it's nice to have time with just my princess.
