I’m stating observations from things I’ve seen in the real world and on this board.

you do know that people were paddled in school correct? it was also okay to pray in school before meals, before snacks. you do know that it is okay to admit time outs don't work.
I know you live in a world that it is unheard of to do anything but timeouts and buying ipads for kids to appease them and everyone gets a trophy no losers ever.
where parents think it is more important what little kids are wearing (keep up with the jones' omg did you see the caddie SUV they came in was last years) playing stick ball; and what snacks mommy commune bakes that are vegan and lactose peanut free with soy milk.
with some, time outs are even forbidden for gender neutral kids getting sex change operations and gender neutral names.

You’re thinking in black and white terms. It’s possible to not support beating the shite out of a kid, (like the video in the OP), without spoiling your kid, buying them an iPad, and making them vegan.
And kids are allowed to pray at school, they just don’t make them do it anymore. Which is a good thing.
Try to find some other talking points.

Lady, you live in some weird dreamworld that for some silly reason circles back to ipads, vegans, soy, and child sex change for some unknown reason.
I went to catholic schools my whole life excluding college. I was spanked a lot. I won’t say I was beaten but I got more than spanked.
The video above is an aggressive a-hole taking out his anger on defenseless victims plain and simple.
I get the sense your defense of that old, aggressive man beating children is because not doing so would would somehow “show them libs” that if you don’t beat your kid you’re a pussy and they’ll turn out a gay, vegan Marxist which is bizarre.
If you want to argue about unwed marriage and single parent households I’m with you but if you support beating a kid in public and them taking it like that you need to re-examine how your political views align with relativity.
I was spanked. I spank my children (and my wife giggity) but that was a beating.

I’m not opposed to spanking, but there’s a lot about that video that rubs me the wrong way. He tells the little girl “sit your arse down” before smacking her on the side of the leg. That’s not discipline, it’s anger.
I feel like spankings should always happen in private, preferably after the parent has time to cool off and decide if the punishment fits the crime, so to speak. When you can’t wait until you leave a public area (looks like a waiting room FFS) to spank your kids, again - it looks like you’re spanking them not for disciplinary purposes but out of anger.
When it turns into a way to take out anger, that to me is the line between corporal punishment and child abuse. People can certainly think otherwise, just like I can think those people are shitty parents.

Spanking is primitive and brutish. If you can’t find more effective ways of showing children that bad actions have consequences, then I don’t know what to tell you.

I use to get the shite beat out of me when I was a kid.. everything within reach was a switch to my parents.
My oldest son was throwing a fit in tractor supply one day when he was about 4. I swatted him with my belt a couple times.. this older man says damn that's a little much huh.. I told him if he would stand there for just a min, when I'm done I'd whip his arse too Lol.My kids don't get whipped like the should have and it shows.. i blame that on my wife because she always got mad if I spanked them. The time is coming where I'm gonna have to whip my oldest sons arse because of his mouth.. he's 16 now..

Not Only because of your thoughts on spanking, but because you are too stupid to realize every kid responds differently to different stimuli. Some don’t require spanking. For others it’s the only thing that works.

It’s not supposed to be a pleasant experience. It’s a spanking, and if more of this generation had gotten them we wouldn’t have to deal with such a coddled and entitled bunch of human beings right now.
