Although I do like when they really put their foot in their mouth like the owner of French Press and have to end up apologizing because you are losing customers.

I have never been particularly funny and this was a very poor first attempt in a very public setting, on a very public subject. The only humor in all of this is how terribly I failed."

How could you not see that as having an adverse effect to your business in a red state unless you reside in a bubble?

He also loses points for the grovelling apology. Just say, "yeah, I did it and people didn't like it so we stopped".

Sorta like when actors and actresses or athletes use their platform to spread their agenda or political beliefs. Just shut up, play football or make movies or I will not continue to support you.

Look what those loud mouth cry baby athletes did to the NFL and all their sponsors. they shut their mouths real quick when they started losing money.

I don't care if they share their political beliefs on their facebook page or twitter or whatever, at least in theory. I think the best solution is when they can have an artist page and a personal account or whatever, and not let the politics bleed over into tour news. That's probably impractical and nobody does it, but the point is that I don't want to say you can't talk politics. I do think it's bullshite if you're out there calling people nazis, and some of those people are the ones who put you where you are.

And let's be honest, it's rare the coffee shop owner, musician, actress, etc. has something particularly insightful to say. It's just regurgitated bullshite from their closed off circle of ideology.

when some of that legendary Crescent City cultcha walks in robs the place and shoots the cashier, we'll see if he still feels the same.

As difficult as it is to run a successful restaurant, it seems like you are starting out on a bad foot if you are alienating ANY potential client.

, exactly. I have a hard time believing this was a problem before they put up their policy.

Unless I ran a buffet, Gravy would always be welcome at my restaurant.

Burger places are dropping like flies in nola. Bayou Burger on Magazine shut down over the weekend.

Cowbell caters to Tulane, Black Pearl, Hollygrove and Carrollton. Their customers all agree with the anti white supremacy posters on the windows.

Wasn’t there just a court case that said you couldn’t discriminate against people with different beliefs?

Yes, and this business would likely lose if they tried to enforce this policy. You can ask them to eat elsewhere, but if you refuse to serve someone because they're a Nazi, you're going to have problems.

Yeah and that was bullshite. Business should be able to deny service to anyone.

I agree, but progressives want to force businesses to do things they aren’t comfortable with. So I say flip the script on them and give them a taste of their own medicine.

I just don't get how they'd know if there ever was this type of person. People eat for a little over an hour, right? Unless they're wearing a hood they'd never even guess. I've never seen an identifiable klansmen anywhere in my entire life, much less have I been able to identify one in a restaurant.

Its just pointless to even say this. Do people just assume a business is in favor of hate groups unless they specifically and deliberately state otherwise?

Cowbell makes in my opinion the best burger in New Orleans and the mac and cheese is straight from heaven.

I would walk past the sign and not let it affect my delicious hamburger because I’m an adult and I don’t get bent out of shape over such trivial bullshite.

I agree with both of these sentiments

I don't fricking care about the political beliefs of businesses that I frequent. Make a good product and I'll support you.
