I've seen a lot of those at S. La. Cajun/Catholic weddings
It's standard at rural Louisiana weddings along with "The Freeze" and "Strokin'"

The diehard romantics of the OT will be disappointed to learn that despite encouragement from the DJ, the money dance did not generate as much money as hoped. Nevertheless, the newlyweds will not be deterred from their dream of a honeymoon cruise to Mexico aboard Carnival this summer. I'm expecting several garage sales and probably a GoFundMe page.

During the money dance,
Don't get the hate for the money dance. I've been to some expensive, classy weddings with a money dance. It's a way for people to get a minute to talk to the bride and groom. It's not (or shouldn't be) about the money. It's common/expected at every south LA wedding I've ever been to.
If the couple gets anything out of the money dance, it's some spending money/tip money for on the honeymoon.

Her name is in the file name of the ring photo I posted. Somewhat hoped someone lets her know about this thread. You have no idea the amount of trash she would bring to the OT

Drives around in a truck with hand painted american flag flames. The horn plays "dixie" and she honks it like its a requirement every mile.

I investigated. That's the name of the lady with the crystal mine company. Doubt it's the bride/friend the poster here was talking about.

If you're trashy. If you need your guest to give you monatary gifts on top of wedding gifts, you may want to reconsider the financial trajectory of your matrimony.
