Only place I see that is the West End BLVD merge onto i10 going west. Terrible design. I usually speed up to about 70 and force my way onto the highway.
I took out a light pole there while speeding up to merge with traffic on a rainy night in 1979. It is a dangerous intersection for sure, and has been for a long time.

Why does traffic come a stop on open interstate with no stop lights, signs, construction. No reason to stop...period??
Believe it or not, or whether you realize it or not... the truth of the matter is that if EVERYONE observed the recommended "car-length-per-every-10mph" rule, we would have very few slow-to-a-stop situations or stacked up traffic on open sections of interstate. It's the chain reaction, by attrition, of each driver slightly over-reacting to brake lights that causes these btreakdowns in traffic flow. It "almost" always because of drivers following too close... that studies say is the proven cause for the majority of this phenomena.

They are worse than those who text and drive or drink and drive. I shouldn’t be penalized if you decide to come to a sudden stop on a highway with a 55mph speed limit and I plow into the back of you all because you wanted to let some jack arse in from a parking lot or side street.
I see this too many times. STOP BEING NICE ON THE ROADS! Drive according to the rules of the road - not your grandma’s golden rule.
Rant over.
I honestly thought about creating this exact thread after watching two fricktards driving 69.5mph on the freeway when everyone else was doing 80.
I 100% believe there should be no speed limit and people who are impeding the flow of traffic should be ticketed for being a little bitch. The service roads are for the scaredy cats!!!!!!!!!

The other day guy in left lane wanted to get over to the west bound on-ramp. Woman in right lane wanted to get over to get on the east bound on ramp.
Finally guy just said screw it and tried to force his way. Woman wouldn’t relent and he hit her driver quarter panel with his rear passenger quarter panel.
My biggest gripe is idiots that fly to the end of a construction area and then “force” their way into traffic.
On a side note I hate people that go into the center of an intersection only to have the light turn red and hold up all traffic.
I usually try to get in the lane I need several miles before construction goes to 1 lane or when I need in the lane to get on the interstate

My wife (no pics) calls the people mentioned in the OP “Good Samaritans.” She hates Good Samaritan drivers. These are the people who will come to a complete stop on a 30-45mph road to let someone out of the neighborhood and obstruct the flow of traffic behind them. Also, they come to a complete stop despite the blinker to turn to let someone cross over and out while you are anticipating a normal slow turn. It’s a pain.
On another note, a frito Lay delivery truck was doing 65 in the very inside lane of three between range and O’Neal. I was passing in the center lane while traffic stacked up behind him. Dude puts on blinker and without looking began to enter my lane. I lay on the horn but he doesn’t give two shites. Continues to move over causing me to slam on breaks. I pulled along side and honked horn and he just stared straight ahead. If you are on here reading this sir—double birds!

and it never fails that whoever gets let in line in front of you lets another car or two in every few times traffic moves until that one car let 10 fricking people in line inn front of you who continue to let others in line.
this is why i get out of my lane to use the merging lane to jump 1/4 mile ahead of all these idiots cursing at pops letting everyone get in front of him and force my way in ahead of a truck or anyone slow to pull up

This didn't happen.

No, it’s not what you’re supposed to do. If everyone would merge into the same lane when the they see the lane closed ahead signs traffic would flow smoother with a slight reduction in speed instead of multiple stops. People that do that last minute shite are assholes.

Do you regularly see people come to complete stops in 55 mph zones to let some get in?
I've seen this a few times up here in Pineville
people on the Pineville Expressway (speed limit 50 mph) will slow almost all the way to a complete stop to let someone merge on
now... the Pineville Expressway, in my opinion, isn't done all that well... the acceleration lanes are way too short and there are times where people trying to merge on have made a complete stop b/c they couldn't find a hole to merge into
in fact... just this morning... I witnessed a near accident b/c someone was trying to merge onto the Pineville Expressway and another vehicle already in the right lane... fortunately I have given about 2 car lengths between me and the person in front of me b/c the vehicle in the right lane suddenly jumped in front of me to avoid getting hit

I’m on the interstate daily and one of the most dangerous new laws is that you have to move over lanes if a police car has someone pulled over. I see eighteen wheelers whip from one lane to the next almost hitting other cars . I understand the reasoning for the law but I would like to know how many wrecks have been caused by it.

Oh you guys have no idea how much road rage the OP has. It’s comical.
Have a downvote.

You’re the reason it sucks to drive in LA. Stop being an a-hole on the road. Leave early if you need that extra 20 seconds to get where you’re going on time.
You're missing my point here. You know how many people get rear ended by doing what I described? If you have the right of way, everyone behind you does as well. When you stop the flow of traffic to let someone in who has to wait for traffic to clear before going, then you're causing a bottleneck and forcing everyone behind you to brake. Do you realize how many people get rear ended because of this? I see this happen every single day on highways with 55mph speed limits posted. It's not just on small roadways.
Yes, I have road rage and it may be comical but it's for a reason. 95% of drivers are assholes.

I understand that it sounds ridiculous taken out of context but every single insurance adjuster I've spoken to says that if you rear end someone in Louisiana and have a dash camera recording them coming to a stop or a sudden brake for little to no reason right before, then you will have a damn strong case for getting 40%-50% fault instead of 100% fault. Drivers are forbidden, by law, to impede the flow of traffic voluntarily. If someone stops traffic on a major highway just to let someone who doesn't have the right of way into the flow of traffic and they get rear ended, they're getting comparative negligence in Louisiana if it can be proven.
