bullshite. A first year law student could win this case if you were in an accident. You are opening yourself up to a law suit. You will instantly be in the wrong.

My last truck had dark tint all around, except for the entire windshield of course.
I was never pulled over for it. I found a place for brake tags where the guy didn't give two shits if the vehicle was road worthy.

If I'm in an accident, and I'm speeding, that opens me up to a lawsuit, as well, correct?
If I'm driving a car from out of state with legal tint, I'll not worried about it.
If I'm driving a car in Louisiana with slightly darker tint than normal, if I am sued, they're gonna make up all kinda shite anyway.

Make it like a speeding ticket. Over you're 10 over you get a ticket, 40 over you're going to jail. The more you are over the legal requirement, the more you pay. Impounding cars when their tint is legal in every other state is as stupid AF. All tint isn't the same, but I know that's hard for the weak-minded to comprehend.
Well lobby to get it changed then. Its not like typical winder tinters are of the politics of small government.
The real crux...is that window tinters are usually bad drivers that annoy people, hence why they have a negative reputation

Just bc it’s darker doesn’t mean it protects. They make clear tint that block UV rays . You can coat entire windshield.

I don't GAF enough about the issue to lobby to have 'em changed.
The great % of my friends have their cars and trucks tinted, probably 1/2 of those are a bit darker than legal. None of them have their windshields tinted or the limo tint.
With the crap wrong in this State, window tint shouldn't even be in the Top 500.

I have 50% on my windshield and 5% all the way around. I also have a 5% tint strip on my windshield that goes like 8inches down.
Wife has 70% on her windshield and 5% all the way around.

I think when people think of window tinting...they arent thinking of these people. They are thinking of the a-hole in a civic that is riding half an inch from their rear bumper when there is a car in front of you and there is an open passing lane. When that person finally gets over and passes you their window is completely blacked out

Agreed.
Odds of those people having current insurance?

In most states, it is illegal to tint your entire windshield. Unless you’re already legally blind, 80% or even 70% is not going to obstruct your vision.
It’s a stupid law and most cops aren’t going to tell you anything unless you’re being an arse about the stop or your tint is REALLY dark.

Yes these cars and drivers are best avoided at all costs

I've done budgets for 30 years and I can attest to this. Personnel costs make up 65 to 70% of a standard budget. Equipment costs and reoccurring fees for technology are rising as are insurance premiums. God forbid a big civil payout that will hamstring a department going forward. Revenue generated through civil fees and tickets/arrests mainly feed the court system. Like the military, it's a money losing profession that can blow up any time.

Tint is not dark at all; one guy said 22 (?) where can I find one of these guys that won’t give a rats arse and not whip out the tint o meter
