I thought about it today and if the choice was to burn alive or jump I think I would agree with their decision.

I was a sophomore in Hs when this happened. Young enough to be naive about the political aspect, but old enough to comprehend what was happening.

I was a JR in HS when this happened so I’m in the same boat as you. I was in shop class when it went down and our teacher turned on the tv. He stopped and told us this…

“We are not gonna go over a lesson plan today. What you are watching right now is history in the making and way more important than anything I could teach you. Because at this moment a lot of the way the world works is gonna change.”

No thanks. I can’t watch that stuff, it makes me way too sad.
It still infuriates me. I think even more so today because in 20 years we lost thousands in avenging wars yet the ME is almost back to 9/10/2001 and those attacks accomplished much of what was desired for our homeland by AQ/OBL. It's not a popular thing to admit but in the long run they succeeded, we lost, and now China is going to reap the benefits.

I've watched bits and pieces today. I think we were lucky it fell on a CFB GameDay coming out of the lockdowns last year. I recorded a bunch of stuff that I may be able to stomach watching over the span of a few weeks.

THC ran a new show tonight (I stomached the first 15 minutes of it) with a completely "new" set of stories about those in the planes and who they left behind. The Flight 11 captain was a farmer who had tried to trade flights with anyone on another day (due to a family tradition) but couldn't. After hearing about some of the Survivor remorse from passengers who missed one of the 4 flights imagine the remorse of he had found someone. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking this but if he wasn't flying it would have taken his replacement's life and probably not long after he would have taken his own life. I also didn't know the co-founder of Akamai was on that flight (and likely put up a fight.) I had to turn it off when I realized a guy I worked with just a month earlier likely knew him (he was there for the start but left the company 3 months earlier to get his MBA.) That's my closest known connection to it and I can't even describe the feeling I had in my chest & stomach...even though it's been 20 years.

My kids are in HS, one was burn 4 years after and the other 6 years after 9/11. It's sad that I/they are in the age range where their SS teacher isn't old enough to know much about that day other than what he's read/heard from others. They gave them a one side sheet of homework for it. That's it...just a publisher provided worksheet. I realized when I saw that on Thursday that my generation needs to take on the responsibility of making sure these adolescents know it's more than names being read and fields of flags. Also part of why I recorded the new stuff (and the top existing programs) despite not watching much today.

Falling Man immortalized. What makes me sicker? Our pal Creepy Joe Biden is setting us up for another 9/11 style terrorist attack. Book it.

You know I'm right.

Those Jumpers from the Towers

Had a family member who worked next to the towers. Witnessing the jumper REALLY shook him. Years of counseling for PTSD ensued.

I can’t imagine what he saw that day
