Oh look another champion of the people who wants them to be free to do anything except the small stuff like raise their offspring as they see fit.

I don't give a shite either way, but you have the classic "be open-minded, unless you disagree with me" attitude.

Homosexual behavior is sinful and perverted.
People who promote this behavior and form of love into a legal binding Gay marriage have some issues to deal with.
That's not meant to be judgmental but rather an observation that must be in the conversation.
Yeah, I get the whole idea of freedom and "people should be able to choose what they want to do with their lives." Part of me is 100% down with that. and let's not forget, no one is stopping people from loving or living with people they want to. That's freedom, and it reigns.
The issue is we share a civilized world and we will disagree on moral issues until the sun stops coming up in the mornings.
those that believe in God and his word have a clear understanding of morality.
those that reject God, reject what his word says.
It's that simple
People can choose their path in life, and will live with the consequences.
It's not up to Christians, we're not to judge those outside the church...
In worldly matters, if we are allowed a vote on gay marriage, we must vote our conscious on these matters.

Lots of time and energy being spent discussing less than 3% of the U.S. population.
Why is this issue even on the radar in the press, religious, and political landscape?

This a spiritual issue that can divide people.
Most can't see or refuse to see it on that level or spectrum.

I give zero fricks if gays want to marry, but I still downvoted. You're just as intolerant as those who are against gay marriage (and probably dumber).

I'm a Conservative and a Catholic. I could care less what gays do or don't do behind closed doors. Let them get married. My problem comes when many gay people, not all, feel like they need to display their homosexuality or throw it in everyone's face. "I'm Gay and I'm proud of it!".
Even more infuriating is when small business owners (lets use the bakery incident) have the right to refuse business to anyone, for any reason. And in supporting their own beliefs, politely refuse to make a wedding cake for a gay wedding, and then are attacked by the national media and sued. That is atrocious to me.
By all means, get married. But everyone in this country should have the right to stand by their own morals, not someone else's. By all means, shovel your shite to anyone who will listen OP. But don't tell me that I'm retarded for standing by my beliefs.

So what would your reaction be if your son or daughter came to you and told you he/she were gay???
Posted on 6/13/15 at 10:14 am to Tigerfan56
It's not homophobia; no one is actually scared of homos. It's a matter of being disgusted by them, not scared of them.
To be honest, if they want beat each other up and spread feces on each other and lick it off, that's their business.

That would be devastating to me personally. All any parent wants is for their children to have a happy, normal, long life. It would hurt but I would have to support my son. That doesn't mean that I would have to be happy about the situation, but I would make every effort to give him the love and support that my parents gave me.
Does that answer your question?

Yes...unfortunately, unlike you, several posters on this board would ultimately resent their kid for "choosing" to be gay and would not support them.
