Based on the fact that OP calls herself fricking "wifey"

On a scale of 0-10, how annoying do you think she is IRL?

I'm guessing a solid 7

I'm waiting for the manager of one of the ICUs in our hospital to get her stock of employee flu shots in later this week and I'll get her to give me mine.

I've been told by several other employees she gives good flu shots(meaning it doesn't hurt when she gives them).

And she gives dum dums out too

I’ve had the flu 3x in my adult life, every time I’ve gotten it was when I DID NOT get a flu shot. I’ve never gotten the flu and the flu shot in the same year.

Your chance of getting the flu is 2%.

Wrong. Symptomatic Flu infection rates are ~8% of the US population on average.
Hell there have been flu strains that were FATAL to 5% of the world population.
It is also possible to become infected, but remain asymptomatic and be a carrier.

These numbers would be much higher without vaccination use, because flu symptomatically affects 8% of the population while we using vaccines that are roughly 50% effective.

Your math works, but you started with faulty numbers.

That's what I thought

I've gotten my flu shot from my local Walgreens when I worked nights and didn't feel like going to employee health right after my shift or on my days off.

Some of our outpatient clinics are gonna do drive thru flu shot clinics this year (set up in the parking lot). Will be curious to see how that pans out.

Am I the only one that thinks men who refuse to get the flu shot and hide behind some bs excuse just don't want to really admit they are big pussies scared of needles?

Just came back to say how absurd it is that pharmacies are now offering to PAY YOU to give you a flu shot. Why the heck they are being reimbursed that much from the insurance companies is absurd.

I won’t be surprised if it works very well. I have held successful vaccine clinics in offices, break rooms, and even outdoor community festivals. There is a demand for easier access to adult vaccines and pharmacists very good at this.

in offices

My husband always gets his flu shot at his work because someone visits his office to give them.

10 years ago I had signed up to work for Mollen as a side job giving flu shots at Walmarts, etc. Never got to actually work though cause the assignments near me were always snagged by others. I wasn't driving to Flagstaff for only $20/hr. I think Mollen Immunization clinics went out of business years ago.

It’s probably that, laziness(inconvenience), or just a general thought of “i have google I can diagnose myself tyvm”.

We had twins that were born premature (28.1) a couple of years ago. While spending several months in the NICU we were strongly encouraged by multiple neonatologists to get our flu shots. I was never a believer in the flu shot but I figured that if several guys a lot smarter than me were recommending something to help protect my kids, it would be in my best interest to follow their recommendation.

Edited to add:
Publix bribes people around here by offering a free flu shot and a $10 gift card if you get the shot at their pharmacy.
