Twitter is such a cancer, but Jesus who the hell asks without any sort of information gathering first. While she sounds like a nut job, it's painfully obvious she would have given him the shake off.

I have long thought a lot of the top posts in subs, that are really well written, are simply writers pumping out fiction to hone their craft.

This lady seem like a massive see you next tuesday. Look at one of her other reddit threads, seems like she's just a nasty person in general:
Doesn't want to let "her sister's bratty kids" read her comic books...

She's right about the comic books too. She told them not to go in there, he goes anyways, she's a collector so it's not simply picking a comic book to read. Obviously she has issues with her family and friends being twats who don't listen.

All these are made up.

She's a massive bitch just based on the way she speaks about her family and nephews/nieces.

He dropped another bomb and told me he had been talking to my parents about us getting married and starting a family. Let that sink in. He talked to *my parents,* not me about our future. He said he had asked my dad's permission. My dad's permission, before he asked for my consent.
Apparently she’s never heard of tradition. You’re supposed to ask the father before you propose. It has nothing to do with “getting consent” which you still have to give anyway.
She kind of sounds like one of those feminazis, but some people don’t want kids, and that’s fine. So, Jason should have respected that. And making a scene in front of her whole family is cringey at best. She comes off as a kunt with the whole consent thing.

Whether he realized it or not, what Jason did was manipulative

I’ve seen this take several times on reddit, it took me a while to really get it but 90% of that website has mommy daddy issues

Just read the post about the comic books. A 38 year old woman with a “hobby room” and comic books that she won’t let her nephew read? She’s definitely an overgrown child. I’m glad she doesn’t want kids then. Probably would be just as conceited.

Before proposing who is the more important party to have onboard, the woman or the dad?

Nah man, it is pretty much the crux of this story.

He's 8. She has toys specifically made for an 8 year old locked in a room. Most predictable thing ever happened and she yelled at him.

Without clicking the link, I'll guess the childfree subreddit.
Edit: I was wrong, but it ain't much better.

Yeah! How dare someone ask for a fathers permission to marry their daughter and then plan a nice family dinner to have all of her closet people there to share a beautiful day with them.
What a thoughtful sack of shite that guy is right?

I will be proposing soon, and I would never do it without her 100% on board. The timing should be a surprise, but the concept of marriage shouldn't be.
