Ripley's attorney, Nelson Rodriguez-Varela, said the contents of the arrest affidavit are merely allegations and not proof of his client's guilt.
"Our position is that Mrs. Ripley is a good woman and mother who always looked after the best interest of her son Alejandro. This is not the time to rush to judgment in this matter," the statement said. "At this very preliminary stage, Mrs. Ripley is presumed innocent as any person charged with a crime would be."

No joke. My biological mother could not handle me, and so I was put up for adoption, although she abandoned me. I did spend my first seven months in NICU. I had complex health issues, which meant plenty of long hospital stays, and those resulted in some behavioral issues (institutionalization does something to a child). My adoptive parents couldn't handle seeing me in pICU so they never visited me; that hurt worse than any physical pain I felt.
But they never even thought about killing me. Damn. I believe that the punishment should fit the crime. 100 applications of waterboarding, then dropped in a lake with a 300 pound weight so she can drown over and over again. F this.

The mother and child are seen stopping along the edge of the water and moments later she appears to push the child into the water. Ripley is then seen running away from the canal.
She later returns with a man to rescue the boy out of the water. Once they succeed, Ripley is seen standing with the child drying him off with a towel, talking to bystanders in the neighborhood where the incident occurred.

You're underestimating the guilt that even a piece of shite like this carries around. Unless she is a complete, certifiable sociopath, she felt guilt. Subconsciously, if not consciously, humans "want" to relieve themselves of that guilt. Often times, it is done without realizing it.
That said, this is another candidate for a .22 right at the base of the skull.

Yes, we should always believe what an attorney tells us...
Sad if this woman does not receive torture for her actions...would be bad enough if you did this to a dog, but to a human?
