No. Because their official school name is University of Louisiana at Lafayette. But in Athletics they wish to be branded as Louisiana. Contrary to what everyone on here says, they're not trying to brand the school as the University of Louisiana.

I say UL because ULL sounds stupid. Any other letter would have been fine, but I’m not saying back to back Ls.

there is a University of Louisiana...in New Orleans
the Tulane University of Louisiana, read up on the history of the place...that's one reason why Louisiana State Legislators have scholarships to give out there...
