When he goes to her left hand he pushes the band around the other I do this for my son and my niece and nephew I think there are a few ways to do it though

He slips it between his fingers when he pulls it back for the last time. When he slows down and acts like he's about to pull it through, it is already through.

After he pulls it towards him he then slides down and he lets it fall off of his finger and quickly gets his finger back in there and brings it up front. Don't think I am explaining it well but its very quick hand/finger work.

When he pulls back slightly off camera, he is more than likely switching his band to his middle finger while grabbing her band with with index to prevent it from snapping back. It's a fluid motion with lots of slight of hand practice. He then pushes his band into hers to make the illusion for the second half.
