Good advice and have them make a note on the receipt that the vehicle or trailer was returned in good working order and clean. Or, you make the note yourself on the invoice before you sign it.

If you ever rent a car/truck, take pictures when you get it and right when you drop it off.
I’ve gotten the rental car rep in the movie that I film (surreptitiously) while we are doing the walk-around.

Is it the UHaul next to the subway and Kroger? I rented a trailer from this location and they tried to charge me for damage. Luckily I took pictures of the trailer at pickup and drop off. Contacted the regional manager and he refunded the rental completely. It’s a sketchy UHaul

You need to get ahold of the manager at the actual location you rented from.
Their customer service reps are terrible when I had a similar issue. The manger at the local location told me they didn't know what they were talking about and fixed it

Yeah, off Peachtree right across from Totalwine. I already disputed the charge with my bank but contacting the area manager is a good idea.

Never had a problem with them. If you returned after hours and went through their after hours return process on the website or app your exact rental return time and pictures should already be documented. You have to take multiple pics as you step through the process.

funny thing - the insurance you can buy through them doesn't cover the entire truck - it covers up to around the door - any damage to the canopy of the truck is not covered - it is buried in the fine print.
Too many people must have taken a Uhaul or 2 under this bridge...

For your entertainment, a YouTube channel of stupidity...

It's going to be an issue with the local office. We've used the one on Millerville a few times and have never had an issue.

When you return you should take pictures of the tank, mileage, outsides of the truck, and inside the truck. You cover your butt in case they try to lie about your mileage, damage, or that bs cleaning fee.

I need to rent an enclosed trailer, in the past they would quote monthly rental prices. Now they want the daily rate, paid up front for 6 weeks. That would put me 1/2 way to just buying a 6X12 trailer...
That’s exactly what I did. I wanted to rent a trailer and move, but was quoted $1800 plus fees and taxes. Ended up financing a trailer, which I’m trying to sell. Overall it will cost me $1200 and I was able to find a much nicer trailer for the move.

TLDR: U-Haul sucks arse and should be avoided.
True. I never rent their trucks anymore, but the trailers are usually fine. We made a reservation almost a week in advance several years ago. My grandfather had passed away, and we were cleaning out his house to get it ready to sell, planning on bringing a few things back with us. We drive to the location on our confirmation email where we had reserved it, waited in line a while, and then they tell us our truck is at another location. It was actually on the way back to the house, a few miles away, so no big deal. We get there, and it is this shady looking metal building in rural Mississippi. Woman finally comes to the door, with half naked children running around in the back of the office. We finally get the truck and go on our way. I think we rented it for 2 days, and were going to return it to a Birmingham location the following night. I show up to drop it back off, and there was one poor guy working, and about a half dozen people making returns. He had to check them back in, go out and inspect the trucks, move them to the back lot, and do it all over again. I waited about an hour, which was actually pretty fast considering, but they should have some better reservation and return system than that and staff accordingly.

Just pay it and move on. Not worth it to deal with those idiots
