Black teen hits racist white girl

This happened the other day and hasn't made any major media rounds at all for some reason.

Story about it

Why can't people ignore ignorance and words? All this kid did was play into the stereotypes that dumb chick was calling him.

This is the problem in public schools in my experience. These kids are usually labeled with this bogus stuff at an early age. Along with the "disorder" comes a behavioral intervention plan (BIP) that has to be followed by all of his teachers. Basically, it gives the kid permission to do whatever he wants and takes away the schools ability to get rid of him. It also keeps some SPED supervisors in the central office with a job.

Now, said student steps into the real world where they don't play this shite. No BIP's, no freedom to do whatever they want, and what is the result. Prison. Good job school system for doing what is in the best interest of these kids.

When you make a word selectively taboo you empower One group to think it has the privilege of responding with violence if it is used. Basically we have made this subgroup think they are justified in using violence for anything they perceive to be "racist".

And too many In the media and government back them up on it.

at what point is the teacher "allowed" to defend himself?

jumping up on the table where teacher was sitting could be considered and invasion of personal space

i'd don't think the circumstances favored the teacher in any way shape of form of retaliation or defense. teacher should have curled into a ball under desk and waited for the next president.

Honestly, I wish more teachers would file charges when a kid puts their hands on them unprovoked. Unfortunately, you have a lot of new/young teachers in schools with behavior issues that are afraid to do so because their district administrators put pressure on them not to. For the sake of keeping the district out of the news.

If they did, districts would get tired of having to deal with the courts and with the teacher's union up their asses over unsafe educational environments.

With the increase in incidents like this, there actually should be legislation at the federal level providing some sort of protections for teachers/administration/officers having to deal with spoiled unruly kids.
