Don't care for doing something around a fire when it's 95 degrees. Hell , fire is for warmth, to heat things up. You use heat when you r cold. Not hot.

I put the grill away after Memorial Day weekend and don’t bring it out again til football games start.

Too hot to grill in NOLA during the summer.

Best time to grill is NOW!

I'm so glad I read this thread. I never understood what heat was for.

While I 100% agree, it's also the perfect weather for sitting inside with a bourbon and painstakingly making a super dark thick roux Gumbo.

I'm going to do that.

Did a meatloaf on the grill yesterday. Fixing to make a Challah for the first time. Feel like baking today.

You keep your beer in the snow and it stays cold. My old man used to do this while grilling and I didn't realize the genius until I was older.

You didn't realize ice made things cold until you got older?

Correct me if I am wrong...but doesn't the roux actually get thinner the darker it gets?

BUT, for the record, I prefer a good dark roux myself. The okra may thicken it back up.
