I highly disagree, coming from BR I'd never go back. You must be a couch potatoe, they have more to do all the time than you could attend. I actually miss a lot because events are taking place simultaneously throughout the city. A true international, multicultural, endless interest city. What are you talking about?

If we're talking about sprawling urban hellscapes that everyone wants to live in, but no one wants to visit, give me Houston over ATL.

I actually find MARTA damned useful. Most of the people who complain about it are hayseeds who want to own a home and a full-sized pickup truck on a $60,000 / year household income, and live in the middle of nowhere. That's a lifestyle choice, and even if a train went by these people's houses they'd still clog up the roads in their scratched-up F-Whatevers.

This sounds like it was written more for the suburban Atlanta commuter than someone living in town. Granted, probably only 10% of people in the metro area live in town, but for those that do, it's a pretty great place to live. From West Midtown to Decatur to Grant Park, there are some awesome neighborhoods and tons to do. For anyone who's been paying attention, the city itself has been in a big upswing for the last decade.
