I'd like to be in highschool/jr high again. With all these dudes playing fortnite, I might actually be able to get some attention from the girls.

Kids growing up need to hear 100 no's for every yes they get

Let your kids hit these streets thinking that doors just open left and right. might as well kick them into a volcano

Great timing on this thread as my 1 kid just lost video games for the next 8 days today because he gave me a little too much attitude back when it was time to shut the game off.

I was addicted to it for three months.

Quit cold turkey back in August.

Don't miss it a bit. I actually cringe when I think about how much I used to play

I wouldn't go that far. It's finding a happy medium. Too much one way or the other and you've got a kid that ends up wilding out when they get out of the house.

As far as Fortnite goes (or really any video game or phone for that matter), it blows my mind a little bit that parents are reluctant to take these things away from their kids. I played video games when I was younger. If I didn't do my chores, grades started slipping, etc. then that shite got taken away. Period. Phone literally unplugged and taken out of my room. No access to the internet unless it was specifically for a school project (and then it was supervised).

Nowadays, I see parents who are distressed about what to do and are damn near appalled when I say they should maybe take their phone away or their video game/internet access away for a bit. It's bizarre.

I'm not shocked. Next time you go to a restaurant notice all the parents letting their kids stare at a phone screen so they dont have to engage each other.

I have stopped dating a woman because she lets her 7 year old play Fortnite. I don't let my son play that bullshite. It's a shitty game with a shitty community.

I downloaded Fortnite on our PS4 a few months ago just to see what the hype was. I played about 30 games.

I don’t get it. It’s a shite game with a weird nearly incomprehensible backstory. No idea why it is more popular than games like RDR2, COD, etc.

Rehab places are great at creating demand aren't they?

On no, I have an addiction to sitting on the couch and not doing much!

Am I the only adult who does not need to play video games? Ever? I do not own any game system but an old school NES 8 bit that sits in my closet. I do not come home after work and play video games. I pour a drink and hangout with family and watch some News and later a show or 2. I THINK my peers do the same. I have friends whose kids play Fortnight. Looks like something I want to avoid.

Young people just want to sit on the couch and play games. I think it has everything to do with parenting.... My son is 19, at one point he could have become one of the couch victims and a nerd. I remember thinking it over. We pushed him outside and sports.
Kids have to get out and burn energy, play, compete physically, it starts from the earliest age. I used to tell my son and daughter, "I'm not your friend... I am your Dad."
If anyone is dealing with this, its too late. It has to start when kids are forming personalities. IMHO
