What burn ban?
At least that's what I'm telling the cops if they show up.

Preach. It's getting "spirit fire" time and the man is trying to hold me down.

I thought it was funny, because as the burn ban was being handed down, someone in my neighborhood was burning leaves in his backyard.

I'm a sovereign citizen, they can't tell me not to burn in my own back yard!

I know. Just got my flame thrower back from the shop and now they lay this shite on me.

Question: Does this "burn ban" apply to grills and BBQ pits?

No, only open fires, like burning waste.

where is this "burn ban" ?

Negative. As long as the burn is in something that is covered (grill, chimninea, etc) you can burn.

The cane behind my house is green. I give no fricks. And I just saw a field burning last night on my way home from work. Unenforceable.

It's only for open, uncontained fires. Fire pits, chimineas, and BBQ pits are all good to go.

It's only for open, uncontained fires. Fire pits, chimineas, and BBQ pits are all good to go
Due to the extremely dry conditions within the state, State Fire Marshal, H. Butch Browning and, Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner, Mike Strain have issued a cease and desist order for all private burning, pursuant to authority under R.S. 40:1563. Private burning shall only be allowed by permission of the local fire department or local government.
This order is effective as of 6:00am, October 16, 2015 and shall remain in effect until lifted. This statewide burn ban is in response to extreme dry conditions, abnormal emergency responses, and adverse future weather predictions.
This ban shall not apply to prescribed burns by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, by those trained and certified by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, or by those who conduct prescribed burning as a “generally accepted agriculture practice” as defined by the Louisiana Right to Farm Law
(R.S. 3:3601 et seq.).
Violation of this Fire Marshal order could result in criminal and/or civil penalties.

I actually called the Denham Springs FD this morning just to be sure. Sort of extreme, but I don't need fines or jail time over a chiminea fire.
