My wife works at Sarasota Memorial and got locked in 2 1/2 days with the last hurricane. We live 5 miles from the hospital. She was not happy about that.

I just hope DJT47 can get "No tax on OT" pushed through. Imagine spending or saving your own money.

That would be absolutely amazing, but I realistically never see that happening

Hospital about to be busy this week. Wait until people wake up and start slipping on the ice.

My wife’s hospital was locking people in and only paying them for their scheduled shifts. Get fricked

she needs a new hospital employer. Thats some shite from 20 years ago. Our people are paid around the clock, OT, etc.

Yep. I told her that. That’s how the plants are.

If a patient can’t leave the hospital because of weather, do they get charged for the extra nights they have to stay?

My wife’s hospital is also locking them in and only paying for their regular schedule. I’m sure she will be looking for new employment soon.

Which employers are these that are not paying for sleep time? I remember being on lockdown for Ochsner Main Campus in 2012 for hurricane Isaac, and they only paid for 4 hours of sleep time. I'm not sure if they still do that, but that pissed me off. FMOLHS pays hourly people for all hours, but they do mention in their disaster policy that state law does not require them to do so.

Sucks for you.

Don’t think any of the Christus campuses in LC are paying for sleep time.

I don’t know what facilities some of y’all’s wives work for, but LCMC pays regular wages for sleep time and time and a half for work time. They’re being fricked.
I’m on the recovery team, lock down is ending Thursday at 7P.
