What about road noise?
I've read some posters complain about it on here in previous threads...

Those cars are POS. I was in bank drive thru and decided to back up to get another lane. There was a Hyundai maybe 2-3 feet behind me but I didn't see it. I put it in reverse and let off the brake. Didn't give it any gas and it still caused $5500 worth damage. The thing just crumpled up.
Don't blame the car for you being a shitty driver

If you're going to get a luxury car get a Mercedes

All Star Hyundai has the best service center i have ever dealt with.
Also i love my '12 Sonata. Had one issue with the steering column, brought it in and was covered under the ten year warranty. zero complaints

So moral of the story: you suck at driving?

Get a Honda Accord, resale value will be far more in 5 years.

Got my wife a Santa Fe a few months ago. She loves it, so far. Also, ten year warranty is the best in the business. They have definitely improved the quality of the product in the last ~5 years.

Has no resale value.

My wife had one. Great car for about 35000 miles, then began to have issues. Real problem I had was that it would stall out on the highway and I would bring it back to All Star under the warranty. While the dealership tried, and I honestly think they made a good effort, Hyundai would refuse to approve warranty work since there was "no code" for what the car was doing. She drove an Elantra, a loaner while repair was attempted, more than the Genesis over the last year or so that she had it. I found that the warranty is worthless if the manufacturer won't approve the repair. There were a lot of internet reports of similar problems from other people at the time. I personally would not deal with Hyundai.

My wife has 45,000 miles on a 2013 Santa Fe, its been a great vehicle so far.
There is no more Hyundai Genesis though. Genesis is its own product line. I think the G90?
Also, go look at Hyundai Azera, competes with the Toyota Avalon and is very nice for the price.

I only have a singular experience which is by no means an indicator that they are garbage.....just my one experience. My in laws have one. We were in the market for a full sized entry level luxury car. Drove their car (~4 years old) and it absolutely felt like cheap crap. Now the car in general looked like they haven't really been treated well (dirty, cracked windshield, messy interior, etc.). But I was surprised and how bad the steering was and just the drive feel in general after getting behind the wheel of some other cars.

Have a 2012 Elantra. Honestly have zero complaints. Car has 60,000 miles and has never been in shop.

That's all cars these days. They're built with "crush zones" to absorb the impact and isolate the passengers. No reason to single out Hyundai here.

Bought a new Sonata in 2006. Still drives well. Never any major mechanical problems other than front end suspension. Body and interior are not as impressive- easily dinked and scratched compared with our 04 Toyota. Leather seats show some excessive wear. Seals around driver side door have been deteriorating for a few years. I'm sure the newer ones have improved on some of that stuff, but they are cheaper than the Big 3 Japanese makes, and maybe this is part of the reason? To be fair, it is out in the weather and 11 years old. Plus I'm not always real careful how I park or where.
I'd consider getting another one. But this time I think we will go Japanese. Probably Toyota, Honda or Nissan.

Same here, but we had better luck with the warranty covering almost everything.
