None of that where I am. Either of the Jumonville subdivisions are going to be where more of the “upper class” families will be found, especially Jumonville North. Here in Lexington we have plenty of Firemen, Cops and Refinery bros. Just my street alone, my neighbors to either side are cops and directly across is an electrician who works at the refinery. Come on down one day brotha, happy to give you the grand tour lol

What street are you on?

It’s made for all the old people that talk it up from their memories lol… younger people go different places like Secret Thai, Crave, Desi’s

Yep. Rocky's still does veal, stuffed peppers, wop salad and the baked mac better than most. Their po-boys are just ok and the roast beef we grew up with is no longer. Tommy isn't back there slicing up roasts like the old guard used to do. They're just throwing deli meat in the gravy.

We do offer a pretty solid lineup unless you're addicted to chains.

Arabi Food Store
Kitchen Table
MeMe's
Crave
Wow
Fish Shack
Charlie's
Jeanfreau's
Family Kitchen
Rebouche's Cafe
French Press
Brewster's
Cafe Aquarius
Brewster's
Savvy Sliders is coming soon.

Thinking about moving to St Bernard Parish for work. This is the most depressing thing I’ve read today

You must be one of the posters who settled for the passed around former sorority girl and is now banging loose roast beef pussy twice a month at most and overpaying for everything to live in New Orleans or Metairie.

I have a nice house in Old Jefferson, just outside of Uptown NOLA, a block from the Mississippi River but in a "no flood zone" (didn't even flood in Katrina) that you can rent.

Wee Wee if you get in Old Arabi you can walk your dogs on the levee, when I lived there I ran a lot of miles on the levee.

Yeah, so did I and could run as far as I dared go, but today I don't think you can even get into the area of Domino's Sugar Refinery.

Then when you get to a lot of the businesses that front the levee, they've put up fencing down to the river's edge with "No Trespassing" signs on them.

Ever since 9/11 a lot of those companies, especially oil refineries have closed off access to the levee.

would go from the 9th Ward into Arabi via the levee behind the Barracks, through a small gate off Angela St. and via Dauphine St. Now, all those access points are shut down to vehicle and foot traffic.

You can still walk on the levee behind the barracks to cross into Orleans Parish…

Nevermind. Circumstances changed and a job offer in north La just offered me 6 figures more per year than the St Bernard job. Looks like I do not have to move after all.
