i've recently realized that i really dont like what i do as a sales rep. for a medical company, and ive always like geology. im 33 and thinking about going back to school for geology. any suggestions or insight? what's the market like for geology grads, and what should i expect entering the workforce as a entry level grad at 36-37?

Be the kind that hunts for fossils. That would be awesome.

If you're going back to school, get your arse in the medical field.

You're welcome

Right now the job market is down. I'm a geologist working in environmental consulting and the job market is flooded with petroleum workers. I was lucky enough to have a friend get me a job before oil was completely down.

So you are saying pursuing a geology career could get a bit rocky at this time?

Being outdoors vs shift work in a hospital. Tough choice.

It will take you 2 years of undergrad and 2 years of grad school to get a degree that will get you into the biz at the level you want.

If you think the biz will tebound in that time, you should enroll.

That's the main reason I want to school, to get out the heat and not have to shite in the bushes.
