I saw on national news one time that Bawcomville was well known for pig named P-Pie. Somewhat of a local celebrity.

More surprised that he's a Democrat or that he's been unopposed for so long?

Had a ponytail for most of the '80s. In West Monroe.

But as for Bawcomville, just stock up on ammo and penicillin and you'll be fine.

does he run the West Monroe political machine?

He's just a very good Mayor, and a helluva of a lot better Democrat than the ones running Monroe.

I never would have guessed he was a Democrat because he sure don't act like one. Probably just from the old school.

It's real. It's mainly made up of junk yards, body shops, bars, thrift and liquor stores and a 99% redneck population.

And I've never lived there. Had a friend that did in my early 20s

There's the story about a tornado that ripped through Bawcomville a few years ago. Did almost a million dollars worth of improvements.

Bawcom Street runs through the south side outskirts of West Monroe, west of the paper mill. Its racially mixed these days but for many, many years it was mostly white, very poor, and as violent and crime ridden as any ghetto in NOLA. I'm not sure if Bawcomville was ever officially incorporated as a community but its been a codeword for poor white trash/trailerhood culture for as long as I can remember.

that seems to be the general consensus of the people. he's known as a strong christian, a very good ambassador and businessman for the city, and an all round nice guy. his family has been around for many years, and has produced judges, professors and other notables, and they are generally humble people. no one runs against him because it would be a waste of time and money. he's earned the support of the voters.
