Opinions? Been there? Are there good parts of town I should look for?

You'll like it. You can leave your Christmas decorations up year 'round.

Bawcomville is almost as bad as Monroe. Be careful.

What about points of interest? How's the nightlife?

I have kids so school and a family friendly environment is very important to me, do you think I can find that there?

Born and raised in B'ville. If I ever decide to leave the big city of WM and move back to the suburbs, Bawcomville will be my first choice.

Never been to NELA and know little about it. Wiki-ing various places and found this nugget about West Monroe:

quote:

The mayor, Dave Norris, a Democrat, has served since July 1, 1978, and was unopposed for a tenth term in the municipal election in 2014.

More surprised that he's a Democrat or that he's been unopposed for so long?
