I live up here on Whidbey Island, look up Deception Pass. Also in the Seattle area, Snoqualmie Falls, Space Needle, Pikes Market, Mt Rainier, Olympic Peninsula, Jim Creek for trout fishing. Make sure to get some good pictures from Kerry Park as well.

Was up there in June. Vancouver was awesome except for the ton of homeless people in downtown area. Go to the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver. It's an entire park in what looks like the set of the moon of Endor from return of the Jedi, overlooks over several hundred foot gorges, etc. Can easily do it in a day. You won't be disappointed if you like natural beauty. Stanely park is cool too as is the observation lookout. If you're into cars, Tacoma has an awesome car museum.

Mount Ranier, the San Juan Islands, Vancouver Island, Whistler are four places I’m happy to have seen up there.
Vancouver is Seattle on steroids, until I visited both cities I always thought of them as peers. They are both really different than anything you would see coming from the American South.

I'm flying up on Friday for a long weekend. I'd like to do the outdoorsy stuff but the weather is going to be shite. 70% on Friday and 90% on Saturday. Sunday clears up and should be nice.
I love grunge. There has to be a good grunge museum up there somewhere, no? The Seahawks are hosting the Eagles for SNF too. What's the gameday atmosphere around the stadium?

Seattle is a great city. However, Vancouver is a better city.
Hit all the spots that people mentioned earlier - downtown, gas town, Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Granville Island etc.
However, in my opinion, you have to go off the beaten path to truly enjoy Vancouver - and I love Kitsilano. Walk across the Burrard Street Bridge, to Gravier Park, walk the seawall to Kits beach. Go up to West Fourth, then back down to Kits and head down to Jericho. Maybe head up to Point Grey, walk through the UBC trails. If you are traveling with kids or a significant other, watch the Festival of Lights - one of the World's greatest fireworks shows, choreographed to music, with various countries competing (I prefer to watch at Gravier instead of English Bay).
Go to Queen Elizabeth Park as well. Eat as much ethnic food as you can - better sushi in Vancouver than Japan.

My favorite in Seattle is Chihuly Garden and Glass. My favorite in Vancouver is Stanley Park (huge black squirrels were interesting). My favorite near Victoria is Butchart Gardens.
