That white supremacy isn't the biggest issue with this country like the media claims it is.

That is wayyy old news. Circle K bought all of the competing convenience stores in BR like 5 years ago. Haven't seen a Crackhead Barrel since about 2016.

Craft beer seems to be at post peak. Lots of shitty fruit and sour beers. Consumption seems to be trending back towards the basics: Bud, Miller, and Coors.

I wonder what the hourly average take for beggars is. I bet it’s more than minimum wage
I did some back of the envelope math on this. There is a big intersection that I turn left on to go home several times a day. There is a bum asking for handouts EVERY day in this median. I know from experience how long it takes for the light to turn and how many cars que up in the turn lane. I would estimate that at least 300 cars turn left here every hour. So if he gets 10% to hand him a dollar, that's $30/hr tax free. If only 5% give him a dollar, that's still $15.00/hr with no boss, rules, hassle, etc. It's not hard to calculate this is likely better than minimum wage work, especially if you are in a liberal area (which is most cities) where you can rely on a higher percentage of givers.

Chase Bank had three location within ten miles
No the closest location is 35 miles away.
Most of my banking is done online but sometimes you just to need to go to the drive up or lobby.

Slidell is being overrun by Circle K's and car washes right now. Hell, even the Shell in Pearl River just flipped to Circle K. I live further up the road in the boonies thankfully, but its still noticeable that E St Tammany is taking yet another step down the trash level. Two abandoned malls and Gause Blvd is now emptying out.

Automatic car washes opening up like Starbucks around my neighborhood.
I posted about this last week. I hear how they “print money”. My next question is how? They seem to be well-staffed, and lots of folks buy those monthly memberships. That would put a bit of a cap on what you can make. I’m sure there’s more money put into maintenance than I would guess. And lastly, if there’s so many of them, the market could be saturated, no?

The market is never too saturated for money laundering.

I have an observation about the way people drive down here. In town, you can always bank on not being able to reach the speed limit. So many people go 5-10 below. I am that guy that goes maybe 5 over, but I feel like a NASCAR driver because people are constantly loafing. It doesn’t matter which lane, whether you are on a freeway or surface street.

BR had very few homeless people when I was growing up. It was pretty rare to see one. Now they are everywhere.
And well-meaning idiots STILL give them money. They will not stop.

The fact DR Horton built neighborhoods are selling 2000 sq ft homes for $700k. My company doesn’t seem to want to do anything about the cost of living increases, and HR acts shocked when relocators turn down our ‘competitive offers’.

There's a contingent of the public that complains every time a criminal goes to jail. Also I saw a recent FB post complaining about a man pissing on the side of a building next to the Sonic(true story). The same contingent couldn't understand why this wasn't just accepted. Of course, I've been to the mother land a few times. Pooping and peeing in front of everyone, anywhere you please, is standard operating procedure.

Car washes are great for money laundering.

A few new pit bulls in the hood...one attacked when my wife was walking our two Shepard mixes. One of our pups got bitten, but he held strong and backed the pit down and the pit's owner got there and grabbed him.

I live in the Hattiesburg area and people around here are crazy about sno cone stands. The cars are backed up like crazy. I’m baffled.
