if kids were arrested they muist have been questioned first right? I mean the cop wouldnt go willy nilly and arrest 2 kids cause footage showed them walking around a house, unless the arrest was for trespassing, and they wanted them to confess to everything else.

Was the stuff found?

Not to hijack this thread but this reminds me of a question I wanted to ask...

What's the legality of personal security camera aimed in such a way so as to see in other people's backyards? I have a neighbor that seemingly ALWAYS has an issue with their surrounding neighbors...in one such case she's even referenced seeing him doing something in his backyard on her surveillance she had an issue with. This neighbor borders my own backyard as well...so I'm assuming there might be a camera that sees into mine as well.

While I'm not doing anything, I'm not exactly fond of the idea that some asshat has a camera potentially looking into my backyard any more so than I would be if they were standing on a ladder with a video camera recording my actions in my yard over the fence.

anyone have any idea what the legality is here...do personal security cameras need to only record one's own property or can they be pointed at anything so long as they are attached to their own property?

This is what I'm curious about. A buddy of mine in college learned the hard way about inviting the wrong crowd to parties. Showed up with two guys he thought were cool to a big house party, next morning everyone wakes up hungover to find dozens of wallets and cell phones are missing and the two guys gone. He had a lot of explaining to do when in reality he was a dumbass but not a thief.

I need someone to recommend a good, yet not to expensive home camera system. I would gladly plaster a thieves face all over the internet.

not sure but if you were to find out it would be nice for you to let everyone know. It is probably some ambiguous law that needs concrete proof he is recording you for specific reasons. If this was the case i would hammer down a 10-15' pole and put a camera up on it and aim it at his house. and say hey the wind turned the camera towards your hosur, but ill turn my camera away from your house if you turn yours away from mine.

That family member is going crazy because "they had no right" to post the photos because nothing was stolen from them.

So, only victims of crimes are allowed to help in solving/apprehension? Those parents need to be locked up also, in a padded cell.

I have an Arlo. It does well, but all I have ever caught is a fat woman looking into my windows one day while I was at work.

Yeah I wouldn't spare anyone, especially a fat, nosy neighbor looking into my windows. Your dumb cat walks across my car, I'm putting its owners on blast as well.

So, did the kid live in the neighborhood? Or was he a nephew type that was just familiar enough to think about stealing shite? If he doesn't live there, I'd love to hear the family's explanation for why he was creeping around late at night.

One of the 2 kids arrested most likely confessed that he and the other friend were in fact said thieves. When shitty kid number 2 hears this from police he goes with the nah man wasn't me defense and of course his shitty parents back it up as their beautiful snowflake couldn't possibly be responsible.

As if there is a plausible scenario where you are walking around a neighborhood at 2am with a friend who out of no where is now carrying a yeti ice chest and you are all oh cool not going to ask where that came from or why he suddenly picked up his pace after acquiring said item

It appears that the kid finally admitted to it. All the drama has been removed, as well as the pictures, and an adult entered the room:

To all: The thieves that were recently posted about in redacted and other areas have been arrested at this time. MCSO is attempting to retrieve the property and have it returned to the rightful owners. The thieves admitted to also stealing a light bar from a vehicle. If you or anyone you know is missing a light bar please contact the MCSO at your earliest.

Further, as it appears these are young men with a long life ahead, please remove any and all posts with their pictures from any social media and ask your friends to do the same. Hopefully this encounter with the police will help them choose a better life path and they don't need to be constantly reminded throughout their lives with these pictures that they once made some bad choices. Think about your own children's reputations and what you would ask of your community in this same situation.

The only question I have is what the hell is a light bar.

Screw the kids and their pictures. Its theft as a teenager or whatever, its not like its a huge deal. They should be publicly ashamed, that is a ridiculous request. Its not like its illegal to repost arrest reports.

Let me guess, the parents want the kids to not be officially charged for theft if they do community service and apologize? lol, Generation Snowflake and their parents are pathetic.
