Thief at Albertsons on Sunday

Grown man is moving quickly out the front entrance with a saints jersey on and a shopping cart full of 5 or 6 cases of beer.
Manager catches up to him. "Sir, can you show me your receipt?"
Man responds"Yeah I got my receipt!" Angrily pulls out wallet with no receipt in it." then tells the manager "Man, I'm going to press charges on you!"
Manager walks back into store. I asked him if he had his receipt. The manager said no, and it's just not worth dealing with.
This shite pisses me off so bad.

My first job was bagging groceries at Albertsons back in '95 and'96. Our managers didn't play with shoplifters back then, especially someone carting out a shite load of beer.
Only once did I ever see them let someone off the hook - a lady who had nothing in her jacket pockets except jars of baby food. The manager actually gave her a few more jars then told her to leave and not come back.

Even if he was caught by police in the parking lot, he'd never do a day in jail. This is why the underbelly of our society is such a problem. They have nothing to lose by having a criminal record and they know they won't go to jail, so they continue with this shite.

Store by me in a nice area used to be open 24/7 but now closes at 11pm b/c of those beer thieves. The GM told me that it costs them too much money to keep it open vs how much money they lose from lost meats and beer.
