Two facts about Lee. When his father in law died, Lee inherited Arlington Plantation, now Arlington National Cemetery. He freed all the slaves within five days. This was pre-Civil War
Just weeks after the surrender of the South, Lee was at church in Richmond. A lone elderly black man entered the church and sat in back. Lee walked back and escorted the man to the front and sat with him in the front pew.
If Lee had chosen to fight for the Union he probably would have ended up as a President.

Need a 1000 foot tall statue of St Floyd of Fentanyl mainlining heroin and it will solve all issues.

Likely true.
A mans loyalty was to the State, not the union. The union was still relatively weak.

i have no doubt you have access to plenty of adequate skin lotion.

You’re making a fundamental rhetorical mistake.
You shouldn’t make that argument.
You’re tacitly accepting the Democrats judgement that we were evil people. The only effective response, is to deny their morality, their right to judge, and their character (they have none).
Attack. Attack. Attack.

wadewilson, c and z & CrimsonFever still can't explain why the urban population continues to kill each other, be illiterate, and, yet, given every mean available to advance themselves, 99% choose not to.
ETA: I forgot, it's the statue's fault.

And the state submitted to the central government when it ratified the constitution, thus nullifying the weak central government provided by the articles of confederation.
This states rights argument was dead in the water 70 years before the war.
ETA: It's revisionist history that's being pimped out by people who cling on to anything to justify the rebellion.

The rank and file had more loyalty to their State than to the union
It was a simple and true statement that you cannot understand. No one made a judgement about it, Karen.

Why did he have a statue in the first place?

That last paragraph is hilarious. Lee lost Gettysburg on bad logistics, and Trump really thinks he could have handled Afghanistan?

Still a false premise.
Sorry you can't understand that, Beavis.

I didn't vote for either of those perverts.

What is Trump’s culture as it relates to the Confederate south?
Oh, but he’s not a white supremacist. Right.
