I'm not going to argue with a 12 year old on how a credit score works. I never said I was a "financial genius" -- just a financial coach.

I thought this would be a good thread to find a community to discuss this with, however I'm getting called all kinds of names and getting down-voted. I guess even in 2017 people are just jealous of success.

What if the government shut down your wells until the price came up? Its the same as you suggested, goverment limiting someones livelyhood.

Sorry about your financial position. I would not suggest you get into flipping houses unless you know a reliable contractor that you can continually work with and have a basic understaning of both construction and real estate.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you

Okay same principle applies the oil market is not always stable and can be volitale. It is a risk and I am guessing a significant portion for you means almost all. It does suck for people struggling right now especially people who depend on the oilfield to make a living ,but then again they weren't complaining when oil was over 100 a barrel and gas was well over 3 dollars a gallon and was hitting other families hard at the pump. Investing/Working in oil/oilfeild has risks it can be boom or bust but it is safe to say that you should not put all of your eggs in that basket.

If you're struggling to make ends meet, you don't have a place in Rosemary Beach. You're either full of shite or being dramatic.

My parents own a place in Rosemary Beach and they couldn't have afforded it if they were ever struggling to make ends meet.

Thanks brother. I haven't told my wife the whole story. She thinks I bought her a brand new SUV recently, however I'm currently leasing it. Only been in this house for 5 years and she loves it since the kids can walk to Country Day during the school year. Feel like I'm robbing Peter to pay Paul, ya know?

Thanks regarding the real estate advice. I've also thought about selling timeshares or worst case scenario becoming a late night uber driver in the city (to at least keep the minimum payments met) when she thinks I'm out of town for business.

Why do you blame OPEC instead of the United States oil companies?
