These news stations need to chill out and stop making every storm into a hurricane

In Houston we are having your run of the mill summer thunderstorm this morning. Local news station, KPRC 2, has a storm tracking truck out driving around chasing a thunderstorm. It is pulling up to random roads that have standing water to point them out and encouraging people to delay their commute if possible.

It’s all for the dollar yo!

See the videos of someone giving people $500 for being nice or whatever? That’s not because they like helping people. The $500 is just an expense to get you to like, watch and subscribe. They get way more than the 1 to 2 thousand they give away from the YouTube revenue.

The three local news channels in West Palm had wall to wall 24 hour all hands on deck coverage of the “tropical storm” that “hit” here a few weeks ago. We got 22 mph winds and 3 inches of rain. It was over the top.

As dry as y'all have been lately rain is a newsworthy event. They should just call it "Rain Tracker", though.

The Weather Channel.

I watch them in the morning (5AM) in order to see how our construction work will be affected. Steph Abrams is a hoot. She is intelligent and sort of attractive but I have noticed that she gets excited when a tropical depression begins to spin up and get disappointed when it fizzles out.

Every aspect of news programming has evolved into sensationalism. Sadly, it sells.

It's actually from a tropical low that the National Hurricane Center has been monitoring, but never developed into a depression. Hence the reason it is getting more attention than a general thunderstorm.

I emailed my local Montgomery channel and requested that the weather girl
take an ativan 30 minutes before she goes on the air.

No response so probably in a spam folder.

Everyday is an “impact day” in Birmingham news stations

It’s annoying and media outlets should be called out for the fear mongering

Aside from radio DJs, news station weather reporters have the most endangered job in the very near future. If I need anything related to weather, the weather channel app provides me real time information exactly how I want to see it.

Then you have the larger syndicate news channels doing ridiculous shite like this to sensationalize their story.

And we can only hope for something like this during a live broadcast:
