Don't do anything stupid. I know you can't help your mood in that situation, but you have kids.. grandkids.. Work.. You got shite going on. Can you at least sleep?

So....what are you upset about? I was pre-med for like 2.5 semesters. I can help, but you have to help me help you.

Well, you must have quit before they taught you that you don't get depressed just because you are upset about something.

You should email your doctor tonight, then call them on the way in tomorrow morning. Give him a chance to adjust, add, or whatever he deems necessary. You also have to have a lot of follow up conversations with him until the right combination is found.
I am not a Dr. but have a ton of experience with what you are going through due to my wife. Adding Abilify may work for some but when my wife added it, it put her in the hospital for 7 weeks. It made her bleed out on a cellular level. It looked like a rash.

Must've been right after I switched majors. I identify as a doctor though, so I think I can be of some help.

You have to understand, as some others have alluded to, that medication isn't intended to be the end-all be-all. In a lot of cases they're simply a springboard to improving your life and finding something or someone that gives things meaning. You have to want to change things and make an effort to find what is missing that makes you feel the way you do. Beyond that, I don't feel like I can really advise you because I don't know you or what you're dealing with. Obviously tell your doctor everything you're feeling and maybe seek out a therapist as well or some kind of support group.

Just tell yourself you can't get better. The opposite is bound to happen

Medicine isn't the long term answer.
I've been off and on meds for years. Always feel better for a little while then end up feeling worse.
I decided to get off all of them and just accept this is the brain God gave me. For good and for bad.
Just have to live with it.
