Temple, Texas. made me think of this great NCFOM scene.

ironically, i live there now, but couldn't have pointed it out to you on a map before i moved here. didn't even know it was in the movie and i loved the movie.

completely ungermane to the topic at hand, the chicken farmer that Anton kills was my mother in law's cousin. she wanted to see it because he was in an oscar winning movie. she didn't enjoy the movie or her cousin's ending.

and in another ironic twist, when my wife and i were engaged and doing wedding invitations, we noticed the aforementioned actor was on both my parents' and my in-laws list to send invites to. My wife and I didn't know who he was. We called my mom and she said he was her next door neighbor growing up. called my MiL and said it was her cousin that she had kept up with. there was a brief moment where we thought we were about to Alabama ourselves.

Most realtors do max 1 deal a mnth If you do 2 a month you are top in the nation

End of last year, first of this year my realtor was closing 3x a month in Atl. Took forever to get attorney appointments. Now..crickets.

So many realtors are side gigs, bored housewives, or retired folks just keeping a license.

I bet 50% of those are actually full time and active.

You don’t need to be a realtor to sell your own house.

This.

I’d say a majority of licensed realtors aren’t actively working in real estate.

At least they don’t have to worry about their student loans anymore.

There is an immense number of crappy realtors/house flippers out there.

I started looking at houses in the spring and through the summer and went through a ton of open houses. Some of the realtors in the homes were very personable and knew everything about the house they were selling. You could tell that they were professionals in their field.

Other homes that I visited the realtors were just either lazy or dumb. They could not even answer some basic questions about the house they were trying to sell (like what are the taxes, who is responsible for the broken fence, etc). They would say it's on the listing website or some other lame answer. Or they would sit around playing on their phone in shorts and tennis shoes.. These people were doing a disservice to the property owner. Those are the ones that are being purged during the current downturn.

When you wrote this did you really expect people to believe it ? Does 25-30 per month sound realistic to you ?

If you’re a broker, your agents under you provide you half the commission on all their sales. It’s not that difficult to understand. Clearly this realtor is the broker at a very successful firm.

Most of those "realtors" just have a real estate license, but work in some other industry as their day job and moonlight as a realtor every now and then.

To the best of my memory, before the turndown in 2008, the Greater BR Association of Realtors had ~3200 members and that number dropped drastically ... maybe by 50 - 60 percent.

I for one welcome a purge of my industry. Same thing happened in 2008. It was great for almost 10 years after looking forward to putting in another 10 years and riding off into the sunset

I’ve bought and sold most of my homes through private deals, without any realtor involvement. They add no value. Certainly not 3 or 6 percent.

If median price Of 200k is used and they do 300 transactions a year they are making 1.8 million. In lake Charles. No shot.

Well, she also co-owns 5 Coldwell Banker offices in SWLA so she is probably making more than that but by herself, she absolutely does that many transactions per year.

From her LinkedIn and I promise you everyone in LC already knows her because her name is everywhere

I was honored to be named Coldwell Banker's #1 agent in the nation for total units sold in 2018 and #2 in 2019, # 2 in 2020 with over 400 transactions closed and #1 2021 with over 546 transactions.

The years prior to that

I have been honored to be voted 2014,2015, 2016, 2017 Best Realtor in SWLA by Lagniappe Magazine Poll. In 2017 I sold 63+ million in production and handled over 430 transactions.

Well she's a broker and has realtors under her IIRC.

Yes but she is only getting credit where she is at least one side of the transaction as the agent. That is not taking credit for what the agents that work for her do.

Few months ago, sort of seeing the writing on the wall as to what was coming down, but while interest rates were still relatively favorable, made a somewhat lowball offer on a NO house, only to be cackled at by one of the resident NO realtor biddies as if she was SOOOO insulted and we were just out of OUR minds. Owner wouldn't even counter.

House is still sitting there now listed for LESS than what we offered, with current interest rates now making it all but a non-starter.

You should email that realtor:

Dear resident NO realtor biddies,

Y’all remember when I made a bid on x property for x amount of dollars? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. frick y’all

Love,
Y.A. Tittle

PS: if y’all are willing to sell at a 20% discount off the current listing, hit me up

Maybe they can now make the logical transition into insurance sales.
