"Roxanne" wasn't a US hit until '79

1979. Correct. Well misspent time and brain cells

My friend saw the Police play that night. He said it was incredible how much sound 3 guys could make! He was very impressed. Wish I could have seen that. Of course they returned to Baton Rouge later in the early 80’s several times to big crowds at the Assembly Center.

One time Doug Heffernan won a bunch of money but he couldn’t let Carrie find out (I forget why).
Anyway, him and Arthur and Deacon spend all day doing stuff. At the end they get Eddie Money to play in his living room. At this point they aren’t even enjoying it anymore and just want the day to be over.

I was there. It was at the Kingfish. Roxanne was their hit song. First American tour.
ETA; if 60 people were there it was a big crowd...
Outlandos d'Amour tour

At least one poster on here saw the Pistols
NY Dolls played BR - opened for BOC, third billed was... Kiss.
MC5 played a club on Stanford called the Speakeasy. One guy online claims it was the greatest show he ever saw.

Was that right across from the beach where the condos are now? I think I remember seeing the building.
